Camp Blue Bay 65th Anniversary - Let the Celebration Begin!
2012 is an exciting year for Girl Scouts of Nassau County. It not only marks the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting in the USA, but it also marks the 65th Birthday of Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Camp Blue Bay.
In 1947, Camp Blue Bay was established on Gardiners Bay in East Hampton, New York. Over the years, Blue Bay has been used for both resident and weekend Troop camping. Girls who attended GSNC’s Camp Blue Bay have enjoyed the benefits of the outdoors including activities like canoeing and kayaking. “Pitching a tent, sleeping under the stars, the smell of the campfire, the taste of campfire stew, being outside and hearing the call of a bird or the sight of a deer. These are just a few of the many experiences of camping.” (Girl Scout Camper)
There are two great ways for you to join in on the celebration of 65 amazing years at Camp Blue Bay. The Camp Blue Bay 65th Anniversary Weekend will allow Current Girl Scouts and their Adult Volunteers to create memories which will last a life time. The Anniversary Brick Campaign is a stately way for all Girl Scouts, past or present, girl or volunteer, to leave mark on Camp.
A great way to honor your troop, memorialize a loved one, share a camp memory or leave your mark on Camp Blue Bay. Your personalized brick will be part of a border and pathway surrounding the flagpole at the Dining Hall.
Cost: $65 per brick - to celebrate 65 years.
