GSNC Welcomes New Members to the Chorus!
We are pleased to announce that Chorus auditions were held and we will be welcoming 21 new girls to the Chorus roster pushing the membership to 50 girls. The full Chorus including these new girls will be performing the National Anthem at CitiField on Sunday August 25, 2013. Join us for Girl Scout Day with the NY Mets and come out and hear them sing.

The GSNC Chorus is open to girls from Nassau County in grades 3 -11. Girls interested in auditioning need not be registered as a Girl Scout, but they must agree to join if selected. While prior experience is not required, the application form asks for information on the girl’s previous experience in singing, performing, playing an instrument or reading music.
Girl will be selected based on the needs of the Chorus for vocal and musical strength; eagerness to perform; and availability to meet minimum attendance standards at rehearsals and performances, girls will represent the diversity of the girls living in Nassau County.

Formed in 1988, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) Chorus is a youth vocal group who travels throughout Nassau County and the surrounding metropolitan area performing Girl Scout songs, as well as patriotic and holiday themed music. The GSNC Chorus is compromised of 50 young ladies who range in Girl Scout age levels from Brownies to Senior Girl Scouts.
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus is currently under the direction of Catherine Azzara with the assistance of Jennifer Azzara. Catherine and Jennifer are both former girl members of the Chorus and are both Gold Awardees.
Most recently, that GSNC Chorus were one of the featured girl performers at “Rock the Mall” in Washington, DC. This year the Chorus appeared at the Candlelight Vigil for the Homeless, GSNC Annual Meeting and Luncheon, numerous holiday venues and on Fox & Friends. They are scheduled to appear as one of three featured groups at “Rock the Falls” in Niagara Falls, NY and on Fox & Friends on July 4th.
On February 5, 2006 better known as Super Bowl Sunday, Dove introduced their Super Bowl commercial that featured the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Chorus as the voices behind the images of girls. GSNC's Chorus performs the background song "True Colors" made popular by performer Cyndi Lauper. Watch the 2006 Dove Super Bowl Commercial!
