GSNC Announces Sponsorship Opportunities to Help “Girls Go the Distance”
Garden City, NY (February 28, 2013) – Girl Scouts of Nassau County is announcing sponsorship opportunities for the annual “Girls Go the Distance” Walkathon and Activity Fair to be held on April 21st at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Hundreds of Nassau County Girl Scouts and Troop leaders will be joined by their families and friends, community membersand local business owners to support awareness of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Healthy Living Initiatives.
"Sponsoring the Walkathon is a wonderful and unique way to get involved in the community," said Donna Ceravolo, Executive Director of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “In addition to promoting healthy eating and physical fitness during the Walkathon, the Healthy Living Initiatives also focus on increasing girls' self-esteem, media image awareness and how to develop healthy relationships.”
For many years, Girl Scouts of Nassau County has united local families and communities to promote healthy living among scouts. Girls are encouraged to define their own healthy lifestyle by putting an emphasis on emotional and social well-being as physical health, nutrition and physical fitness.
Each year Girl Scout Leaders, members of the community and local corporations participate in the two-mile walk. The Walk will start around the village and farm of the Old Bethpage Village Restorationand will end at the fairgrounds where the Healthy Living activity fair will take place. Attendees participate in fun activities and learn about healthy choices while Girl Scout Alumnae and corporate teams can meet today's Girl Scouts, network with peers and be real-life role models for girls throughout Nassau County.
The four levels of sponsorship opportunities are Event Sponsor-$10,000, Corporate Sponsor-$2,500,Community Sponsor-$750 and Mile Marker-$150.
Depending on the level of sponsorship, sponsor logos will appear prominently on Girl Scouts of Nassau County website, event banners, T-shirts, mile-markers and other promotional materials.For more information regarding sponsorship opportunities contact Antoinette Agosta firstname.lastname@example.org.
Donations and Walk-a-thon registration will take place from Monday, February 4th to Wednesday, April 17th just log on to www.gsnc.kintera.org/walk. Walk-ins are welcome the day of the event!
