Hempstead Resident elected to Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board
Garden City, NY (June 12, 2014) – The Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) has announced that during the recent 49th Annual Meeting, Brandon Ray has been elected to serve his first term as Member-at-Large on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. He joins a panel of 29 board members in their mission to provide leadership, innovation and support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County.
“We are beyond excited to have Brandon serve on the Board of Directors for his first term”, said Wanda Jackson, President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors. “With Brandon’s extensive resume and eagerness to join the Board, we know he will provide us with leadership and the right skills to become a valuable contributor as well as someone who can continue to help shape girls into Girl Scouts.”
Ray is currently the Regional Director of External Affairs in Long Island for AT&T. He serves as AT&T’s representative to the local government and local organizations. Ray was also appointed Trustee to the Hempstead Public School System Board of Education in August of 2009.
Ray attended Howard University in Washington, D.C where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Ray was part of a select group of students who was accepted to the National Urban Fellows Inc. fellowship program. There he earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from CUNY – Baruch College School of Public Affairs in 2007 as a National Urban Fellow.
