Brightwaters Resident Elected to GSNC Board


Brightwaters, NY May 29, 2012 – Beth Meixner, a resident of Brightwaters, has furthered her dedication and commitment to supporting, empowering and mentoring future generations of women that she has shown year after year. Beth Meixner has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. as a Member-at-Large on May 21, 2012, at the 47th Annual Meeting held The DeMatteis Center. Ms. Meixner joins other Board Members in their mission to provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Council.

“Beth will be a great addition to our Board of Directors,” said Diane M. McFarlane, Esq., President of the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors. “We believe this is an appropriate recognition for the work that she has done in the past. With Beth now serving on our Board, we are confident that she will bring strong leadership and help us to continue our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.”

Beth Meixner is the Founder & President of Moxxie Network, an innovative women’s business community launched in 2008. As an avid networker with a passion for people, her vision was to create a unique women’s organization that promotes generations of women in business. Prior to Moxxie Network, Ms. Meixner was the Director of Sales & Marketing for Target Group Media, one of NY’s most creative multi-media graphic design firms. 

She received a B.S. from SUNY Oneonta and an MBA from Adelphi University. In 2010, Ms. Meixner received the ExecuLeaders Special Award for establishing Moxxie Network, and was listed in LI Business News’ Ones to Watch. Most recently, Beth was highlighted in LI Woman Magazine and Friday Girl TV. In May 2012, she was honored by the National Association of Women Business Owners with their Visionary Award. 

Ms. Meixner volunteers for the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society and in 2008, she participated as a fundraiser and boxer in the LI Fight For Charity under the name “Mighty Mouse Meixner.”

Girl Scouts of Nassau County builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouting in Nassau County creates an accepting and nurturing environment, which gives girls a chance to build character and develops leadership skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them throughout their lives, like strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. With almost 21,000 girl and 7,000 adult members, Girl Scouts of Nassau County has become the preeminent organization and leading authority for girls.
