Girl Scout Night at New York Mets
Join the New York Mets as they take on the Chicago Cubs on Saturday, August 16 for Girl Scout Night! Sit with fellow Troop members, family, and friends and take dvantage of a 20% savings through this special Girl Scout offer!

Girl Scouts of Nassau County is partnering the Old Navy to help you begin thinking about connecting with the ”real” world. In a two part program beginning on the evening of Monday August 18, girls entering 9th through 12th grades will learn how to run a real web-based business. Then, during the daytime session at Old Navy, Levittown on Tuesday August 19, you’ll find out how to connect with an employer by learning how to fill out a job application, write a resume and conduct yourself in an interview. And, you’ll get to discover what it's like to work in a fashion retail environment. Taking action after this program is up to you!

Important: Register for ONE of the Tuesday Sessions at Old Navy, and you will be automatically registered for the Monday night session at the GSNC Service Center. You must attend the Monday night session as a pre-requisite for a Tuesday session at Old Navy
Start off your Girl Scout year with this fun event hosted by the Sheridan AMF Bowling Center. Girls will have a blast - bowling for an hour, doing a scavenger hunt and dancing to the music and videos in between. All girls will receive a welcome gift, win a scavenger hunt prize and earn a special Rally patch. There are 4 different sessions this year and the cost is still only $5.00 per girl, so make sure to register early, before the 9/12/14 deadline.
This event helps girls develop Goal Setting, People and Decision Making skills while discovering the 2014 theme of “Dive In! Be Active” with Mags&Munchies.

Oktoberfest 2014 - Vintage TV
Are you looking for a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of work and school? Would you enjoy spending a weekend making new friends, reuniting with old ones, sharing ideas and exploring your inner creativity? At GSNC’s Oktoberfest, there will be fun and plenty of time for relaxation! You can take workshops covering everything from council programs and outdoor training to crafts, yoga and self-improvement. You may even have a chance to take a walk on the beach or make s’mores and sing songs by the campfire. Whether you want to stay the whole weekend or just for a day, GSNC’s Oktoberfest 2014 at Camp Blue Bay in East Hampton is sure to be a blast.
This year’s theme is “Vintage TV” it’s all about TV shows that you may have watched as a child, shows that are old but have returned, and fun game shows!

Looking for something new to do with your troop? How about learning how to construct an edible house? Riesterer's Bakery located at (210 Bedell Terrace, West Hempstead, New York 11552) offers
classes in edible house construction and while many of the holidays are over you can still learn how to do something great for an upcoming summer holiday!.
IMPORTANT: Minimum 10 children and Maximum of 20 children. A workshop engineer oversees the class and refreshment and cookies are served. $100 deposit is required at the time of the reservation.

The Healthy Living Initiatives brings a unique perspective to keeping girls healthy. Girls define health in their own terms, placing as much emphasis on emotional and social well-being as physical health, nutrition and physical fitness. In addition to healthy eating and physical fitness, the Healthy Living Initiative focuses on increasing girls’ self-esteem, media image awareness and how to develop healthy relationships.
